Each of my animals is carefully knitted, seamed, stuffed and embroidered by me, and always with the thought of how they will hold up to play. I am also careful not to leave any parts loose and I embroider all the facial features so there are no hard parts - all my animals are safe for babies!

Animals with a story

When I was a kid I had a huge imagination. One of my earliest memories is of me feeding shelled peanuts to my stuffed white and red elephant, Jumbo. My sisters and I would also pull out all our animals and play house or school or go on adventures. It is my hope that my stuffed animals will encourage the same imagination and creativity in the children who receive them.

My shop's heritage comes from creativity: Bruckleberry Patch was originally a land I created for a determined Wallomp (keep an eye out for Huxley in the near future!) for a creative writing class. In keeping with that heritage, I provide a brief character story for each animal. It is my sincere hope that my stuffed animals will foster growth of the imagination that every child naturally has.

I love knitting animals for my nephew and niece and for my friends' babies. I'm excited I can share these same animals with other people now through Bruckleberry Patch!
